Consideration of Roof Repair of Pilot Knob Cottage
After noting that the tenant had reported that the Pilot Knob Cottage roof was leaking, the Distribution Manager obtained and then presented roof bids. After much discussion regarding cost, and more discussion on possible sale of the property and the logistics of how that property could be sectioned off, Board consensus was to not sell and to terminate the rental agreement and demolish the property. Motion from Director Poff to terminate the rental agreement with 6 months notice. More discussion was held with Director Daniels noting we could stop rent collection during the interim and if roof condition worsens, more expedited eviction. Director Price noted that we should have the Board’s attorney review terms for eviction and to protect ourselves from liability. Director Daniels
suggested we table any actions, do not repair, and do not move forward with any action until after discussion with legal. Director Poff rescinded his motion. Board directed the General Manager to contact attorney to draft a letter to the tenant. Action was tabled until next meeting.
