Rates effective April 1, 2024.
Service Deposits

Residential service deposit is intended to cover 2 months of charges and may increase based on usage and payment history.

Business service deposits will be calculated based on 2 months of charges of similar customers.
Leavenworth Waterworks requires meter deposits from the following:
- Renters
- Homeowners that have not previously had service with Leavenworth Waterworks
- Businesses
- Customers who have not established a satisfactory payment history. (i.e., late notices, returned checks, disconnects, outstanding bills, etc.)
Meter deposits are not required for the following:
- Homeowners with good credit history with Leavenworth Waterworks
- Property Managers who have established a prompt payment history
- Homeowners who were refunded their deposit and have maintained prompt payment

Service Deposit Refunds
- Homeowner occupied dwellings – may be refunded after 12 consecutive months of timely payment history
- Property owner occupied businesses – may be refunded after 12 consecutive months of timely payment history.
Retail Water Rates
A minimum charge of $15.60 applies to all retail customers each month and an additional amount is charged for each unit of water usage.

Bulk Water Tickets
Bulk water tickets purchased at the Waterworks office. Water can be picked up at our north plant located at 1800 S 2nd St. or the south plant located at 928 N Highway 5 Lansing, KS. Normal hours are 8am-4pm at both plants. If you need water outside of normal hours, please call 913-727-1902 to request access. Please call ahead of time to ensure a staff member is available.
Tickets are available in the following increments:
50 gallons, 100 gallons, 200 gallons, 300 gallons, and 500 gallons. 1,000 gallons and 6,000 gallons.
New Meter Fees
Meter fees include both material and installation except extraordinary expenses such as pavement and sidewalk repair, street borings by subcontractors, rock excavating, etc.

Fire Hydrant Meter Fees
If you need a hydrant meter, please call our office at 913-682-1513 to verify a meter is available.
Once verified, make an appointment with our office to complete the paperwork and pay a deposit.
What we will need:
- A business card
- Contact name and phone number
- Location where meter will be used
- Billing address
- $1,500.00 deposit
*If paying by Credit Card, there is a 3.25% processing fee ($48.75)

All meters will be returned to Leavenworth Waterworks on or before December 20th for inspection. Failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of the security deposit seizure of the meter assemble, or denial of future fire hydrant meter assemble requests.
In addition, applicable State Water Plan and Sales Tax charges will apply.
